In love with the color much? Might as well put it behind glass before it gets messed up.

good morning JW ! Love the Model 29 in taxi driver, but also love the fact that when Travis buys the 29, he also buys an Astra Constable at the same time...a gun i've owned for 35 years. ( it is identified as a Walther by Suitcase Dave in the movie, but you can clearly see the large Astro circle logo on the front of the barrel)

The only thing I would do is use the Wilson Combat aftermarket steel rear adjustable sight and replace that rear sight that came on it from the factory.

Crazy expensive for repros done on CNC, but nice none the less. Pro tip, use a peice of Scotch cellophane tape over your hollow ground driver bit, you're welcome.

Hello J.W! Some suggestions on how to buy and keep the guns you enjoy. I suggest people get into the Trades. Plumbing, election, Lineman and Trucking. The first 3 you can apprentice. They pay you while you learn on the job. Trucking they will develop you after you get your C.D.L. license. Depending on area you can start at $25 an hour. Then work up to $35- $45 an hour plus benefits. As an experienced truck driver it's not uncommon to get $35 plus benefits. Of course inflation and housing costs play into this. If you save your money and mind your pennies you could buy a new Colt every month if one wanted to. I am a C.D.L. Instructor. It's not uncommon to see my Students get significant raises and job security just for getting thier Commercial Drivers License. Just some thoughts from a Revolver lover. Best Wishes from Montana! M.H.

Morning J.W. I haven't owned a Colt revolver yet, but I do have some vintage Smiths. Was curious if the Smiths bluing is as sexy as the Colt revolver bluing. Maybe that helps to justify the higher cost of a Colt. A side by side comparison would be cool! Great show as always!

J.W, I hope you have a great weeked and the S&W 29 looks nice to. I have the same 29 but the one I have was made 1986 with no pined barell and no box. I know that its nice to have the original box it helps in the sale.Any thoughts on the new King Cobra in 22 LR ? Thanks for reading are comments, Slim.

Lethal weapon and Die Hard yes sir I still have my M9A3 but years ago I gave a good friend my original 92 as he needed a better carry option that SDVE he had was super inaccurate and unreliable. Got to love the 29 my brother I will never trade any of mine in they have too much meaning to me

I’ve been wanting a 4.25” blued to go with my 1981 vintage Model 29-2. But I’m ngl the 6” in blued has really grown on me. If I get one there’s three mods I’m doing to it. 1-2 is a new set of Wilson combat sights (gold bead with serrated rear) and a more correct looking set of target grips. Add a bianchi x15 and I’m set.

Talk about a beautiful girl in history and seems to be all original and that is very odd and in the self specially like you said they just disrespect or but then again you know in a war you're in a hurry to get things done if you ever want to get rid of it and you just want to find somebody that wants a new home without paying and I take it laughing out loud seriously I'd keep that if I was here to the passing On to the Next Generation thank you for showing this awesome history of beauty of this gun thank you

Morning J.W and I agree with on the new Colt revolvers. I'm working on filling up a new piggy bank for one of the new Colts. I remeber back in the late 80s at the gun shows seeing them and how pricey thay were so I did'nt want to spend that kind of money but the new ones seem beter made and a decent price.Have a great weekend ,Slim.

I think most companies nowadays really are not paying attention to what the customer wants they rely on their name alone to make sales it is good to see Colt has done a good job regarding new models but if they ain't following the true old Colt that the consumer wants eventually they will have a hard time. 44 is the way my 29 brother!!!

Morning Batjac. Definitely something cool about a single action army. Tucotheratt is a channel that does fast draws and triple shots but you have to do some gunsmithing to fan those guns or you'll ruin them. Great show as always!

Mine was made before it got the Model 10 name. My research indicated mfg date to be 1906 (s/n 106047). It's also stamped with "Patent Feb 3, 1903 & May 16, 1905". It was in rough shape when I got it from a friend. She said her dad had it under his bed for more than 40 yrs. I found his hunting license inside the stock dated 1940. I spent several weeks refurbishing it and it looks like new and shoots very well.

Unfortunately, the chemicals Colt used in the past were toxic, and there is nowhere that they can use them anymore. The new process is as close as they could get, but they did say that the finish will stay on better. I have an old Colt Trooper that had the beautiful, blued finish, but it wore off fast. Can't wait for my new python to come in.
